Although this story is a classic, I don't think that it is appropriate for younger children. I think this story would be great for middle school and higher to talk about the literary devices and the deeper meaning behind the mice.

It is a fairy tale because there is a story of blind mice taking things and going on adventures. It has a repetition of words. “Three scared mice, three scared mice, ran for their lives, ran for their lives.“
The moral of the story is do not do something that will make something worse or put yourself in danger. This is great for kids because they always thing they're invincible and this shows to always listen because more than likely your parents know best.

After a miserable night spent sleeping outside and a fruitless quest for food, they smuggle themselves into a farmer's home. The farmer gives them some of his cheese, but his furious wife summons the cat. The mice run from the window into the briars, where they lose their sight before falling victim to the farmer's wife's knife and losing their tails.
The Beatles are a strange & wonderful & magical group. As such, sometimes when my husband listens to his vinyl and I hear them, certain parts get stuck in my head. This is the case with #ladymadonna and usually my first thought when I hear it is of the nursery rhyme because of the “See how they run” lyric that is repeated in the song. #heyjune
