Give Your Heart to the Hawks
Give Your Heart to the Hawks: A Tribute to the Mountain Men | Win Blevins
1 post | 1 read | 2 to read
A collection of biographical accounts is a lyrical tribute to the mountain adventurers of early America, from the early nineteenth-century's John Colter, who escaped captivity by the Blackfeet; to Hugh Glass, who survived a grizzly attack and crawled three hundred miles to safety; to Kit Carson, who served as a guide for John C. Fremont's westward explorations. Reprint.

Liked this one about the mountain men in the American West, which I read years ago. Includes the Hugh Glass story, told in the Revenant. Not an exact history but more of a character study on individuals and reveals the people and times very well.

KCofKaysville Probably not very P.C. now. Written back in 1972. 4y
