6 posts | 6 read | 3 to read
When Yumi receives word of the battle led against her brother and the Black Clan by Prince Raiden and the Dragon of Kai, and of ?kami’s sacrifice, she resents the bars of her gilded cage all the more. She’s tired of being a sheltered bird, protected in the Hanami. What Yumi really wants is to strike a blow against all the forces that control her life. The time has come.

I am bored and sad about baby cow passing away so let's suggest some short stories down below

Here's the 3 most recent I read

Shell by C K Brooke 5/5

Cinderella by Jamie Campbell 4/5

Yumi by Renee Ahdieh 3/5

tokorowilliamwallace Murakami! I also started Down Along the Piney: Ozarks Stories by John Mort (Friends of the Library books on sale), and also picked up two short story anthologies by a Thai author. And a few short story anthologies from the library (literary and horror). 2y

"A change in perspective can often bring about a measure of clarity." I agree with this

"And any man - or woman - who stood in her way did so at their own peril."

RavenclawPrincess913

"Even if she was allowed access to books knowledge forbidden to most women..... it did not change the painful truth: once her feet left the vaunted ground of Hanami, she was nothing more than a pretty girl, to be used and discarded at a man's whim."

My Thoughts: This is messed up and not right girls aren't property.

Mehso-so

I chose to read this book because it seemed interesting and was free on Kindle app. I liked the ending of this short story but it was slow paced.
