Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored
Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored | Clifton Taulbert
2 posts | 2 read
A son connects to his father's history by the author of Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored. A journey home to the Mississippi Delta community of his own humble childhood became Clifton Taulbert's Christmas gift to his son -- a trip to meet the people who had mentored and inspired Clifton as a boy, to see first-hand the value of family, community and love.

Currently reading an autobiography. It‘s a book that I have always owned. So long that I don‘t remember where I got the book but, I kept it because, it‘s signed by the author. I want to highlight this quote about a woman, Miss Shugg, a neighbor of Clifton when he was growing up. She was a avid dog lady and her house caught on fire. The lady made sure to save everyone of her precious dogs but, was pennilessness because, she didn‘t grab her money.
