The nights are drawing in and it's time for Tom and his master to move to Anglezarke, the Spook's winter house. Tom has heard it will be a sinister and menacing place, but nothing could fully prepare him for what he finds there. The whole of Anglezarke moor is full of secrets, secrets that are about to come to the surface.

Mehso-so

This was a bit weaker than the one before, a whole lot of nothing happening for some time and then the pace doesn't stop until the end. This is primarily about Gregory's past coming back to bite him, which was enjoyable, and Tom making some very stupid decisions, but I guess I'll give that he's 13 and I can only imagine that happening when you're 13 being tough and hard to think through.

night_shift Anyway, I think the UK title of this fits better: The Spook's Secret (why exactly did spook get changed in the titles for the US??) 4y

"Nobody knows exactly what happens after we die" the Spook said with a sigh. "If we did, there wouldn't be so many different religions all saying different things and all thinking they're right. To my mind it doesn't matter which one of them you follow. Or even if you walk alone and take your own path through life. As long as you live your life right and respect others' beliefs as your dad taught you, then you won't go far wrong."
