I just love Duncan & Gemma.
That is all.
I read this book back in November, but I wanted to make sure I posted a review. It was fabulous, definitely my favorite of the Kincaid/Gemma series this far. And I‘ve enjoyed them all! But the plot, the writing, the subject matter: very literary, and very well done. Highly recommended. I‘m reading the series in order, and I do recommend that for the progression of the relationship at the heart of the books, but it‘s not integral to the plots.
Looking forward to this as always! And I was hoping the word du jour would be “novel.” I think I‘ll go for five books plus a bingo, starting with the tagged.
This is the 5th book in the Kincaid/James mystery series and it is by far my favorite. It starts with a request for help that quickly becomes a personal quest. There are startling revelations and Duncan and Gemma make some rash decisions and some parts were reminiscent of the collegial feeling of The Likeness by Tana French and The Secret History by Donna Tartt. This series has become more complex with each installment. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I like this series, but this is my first one on audio. I hope it‘s good since I just spent a credit on it.
