I needed some ☕� to get through this book club pick. The beginning was so hard and the ending as well. I just liked the middle, the theme and of course some amazing quotes and thoughts that Balzac throws around. But the story just seemed disorganized and poorly executed. Didn't enjoy it.

This bool is a classic and not an easy read. It is a philosophical novel that gives a lot of weight to thought, as much as it does action. It is the story of a man who finds a magic skin that grants him any wish he has at the cost of diminishing his lifetime. A novel about death, love, desire.
