I don‘t know why I I put off reading this story. The story is well written and heads towards towards a climax. Not only for Krabat there are a lot of secrets to be unraveled, but for the reader as well. It definitely kept me me going. Only the end was a bit abrupt.

TieDyeDude My Star Wars brain read "Karabast", which is used as an exclamation ? This sounds like a good book, though. 1y

I started to read the legend of Krabat which is placed in the region of Germany my grandparents live in. I always knew about it but have never read it - was definitely a mistake if you see the beautiful artwork.

This is a YA classic that I never read in my YA time (aeons ago). Now that my daughter read it in one day I had to try it, too. A dark book, a bit dated now, but still very good. I enjoyed the sense of otherworldliness and the menace of the old miller.
