Our #LiteReads week of The Woman Dies by Aoko Matsuda and translated to English from Japanese by Polly Barton is finished. I thought this was both a brilliant exploration of violence against women, especially within media portrayals, as well as a really enjoyable story. You can read my full review in the link below. Be sure to let me know what you thought of this short story in the comments. New selection shortly!

Our new #LiteReads selection is The Woman Dies by Aoko Matsuda! This short but intense story takes a unique look at the ways harm done to women is turned into entertainment. This story was translated from Japanese to English by Polly Barton. The link to read this Asian Heritage Month selection is available in my full introduction post, link below. The unknown narrator is going to visit the girl who is getting married and as she's climbing the 5 stories to her apartment she's remembering other times with the girl or maybe she is the girl or maybe she's a ghost of the girls mother. I not really sure but I enjoyed the journey.
