Enjoyed, but didn‘t love, this historical #mystery set at a 1920s Chicago speakeasy. I‘m a sucker for historical detail in my mysteries, and this one didn‘t get bogged down in the romance side plots like many in the genre. I‘ll have to revisit the author‘s other series, set in 17th century London.

On a side note, though, this reminded me why I can‘t stand so many books with amateur detectives. Give me a competent professional detective any day.

1st #netgalley ARC of the year. This one caught my eye because it‘s set in a 1920s Chicago speakeasy
