As you can see I have more time now because the summer holidays started. I started this one reading but ended up listening half of it because during the school year I cannot keep up with a heavy reading like this.
In general this is a heavy story of an 8 year long odyssee. Even though the author tried to mention funny incidents as well but it still was a difficult journey. But it‘s very interesting to read the point of voew of a refugee.

The end made me cry a lot. The refugee Enaiat is able to call his mother after 8 years fleeing from a dangerous life in Afghanistan. She was the one make sure he was able to leave and did not know whether he made it or not the whole time.

I am trying to get back to my C2 Italian level which I had when I lived in Italy. The course I am frequenting recommended this retelling of the voyage of an Afghan refugee. It sounds heavy to me, but we‘ll see.

The true account of a young boy's six(?) Year journey to safety. It's so beautiful. It's heartbreaking and heartwarming.

A fictionalized story based off the true journey of a 9 year old boy escaping Taliban Afghanistan, crossing multiple countries on his own to finally find safety in Italy. A little slow at parts, and some parts difficult to read in the way of what he had went through , but overall a great book.

A remarkable and compelling story of resilience and bravery. At the age of 10 Enaiat is left to make the harrowing journey from Afghanistan to Italy alone,with nothing more than his determination and willpower.

Bought this for my son to read for his final book report due June 6...guess who will be reading it?!?
