This is a historical fiction book about Martin Luther King Jr. This book is about how great of a leader he was. The book starts out with his childhood and how he liked to go to church and play football with his friends. Martin was always very sad and thought the color of his skin shouldn't matter to anyone. He hated the “Whites Only“ signs. Martin was a smart student in school. He graduated and married. This book tells about the protests he led.
“‘I have a dream,‘ he said in his speech. ‘I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.‘”
I love how this book gives real-life situations that happened in Martin‘s life as a young boy, and uses them to show how he developed his great and unwavering passion for equality.
