⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Interesting atmospheric novel about a soon to retire school teacher and one of his former pupils turned famous artist. Set in Paris and translated from French. I kept thinking something different would happen, or that anything at all would happen, but that‘s not this type of book. It‘s more meandering and focused on the life and emotions of the teacher.

Interesting read nevertheless, not as good as the 6:41 to Paris.

It's been a long time since I've read a translated book. Over a year ago and it just happened to be translated from French also. I didn't go into this read expecting much and so far have been pleasantly surprised.

A subtle and ambiguous novel, this is the story of a late middle aged man who has lost his passion and examines his life when he is asked to pose nude for a former student, now celebrated artist. It asks the reader to look under the surface to see the layers of exposure it plays with. An odd novel but ultimately an interesting one. I just finished a book about siblings (review to come) and need to start another book about siblings for book club on Thursday but I‘m going to try to sneak at least some of this one in there to break up somewhat similarly plotted books. Gatsby doesn‘t care what I read as long as she has prime lap position. #schnauzersoflitsy
