I am reading Jami's Mejnun & Leila in between library holds.
Next is Black Suits You so Well by Ahlam Mosteghanemi for #FoodAndLit #Algeria which should reach my library this week.
The 4 titles that are ticked and underlined twice are read.
We'll see whether I reach my full goal: I'm only 50% confident because I forgot to factor in library holds coming through & other distractions 😁

This book was so much fun!

A medieval retelling of Legally Blonde was something I never knew I needed! I‘m a huge Legally Blonde fan but I never realized that it could be retold in such a unique way. As a retelling, it worked very well. The original characters were translated very well. Clía, the female lead, definitely gave Elle Woods vibes.

I am right on track - wishing I was a bit ahead. Going to tackle Peepshow (from the Women's Prize Long list this last year) next.

Soothingly completely unrelated to anything I'm normally interested in. Has black-and-white images which helps illustrate the features of the churches it talks about.

Some poor editing (sentences don't make sense, spelling mistakes), it jumped out at me quite a bit. Did also jump around a bit, sometimes mentioning a new term randomly, only defining it a few pages (or chapters) later.

Making good progress on #10BeforeTheEnd.

Happy Birthday @MatchlessMarie! I'll probably read more today but am unlikely to finish anything else. Thanksgiving madness is here!

My #37By37 goal was four books, which I met, as well as a short story and two graphic novels. And am several stories into Table for Two, one of my #10BeforeTheEnd books.

Peter Carey is never going to be a favorite, but I do admire him even if I don‘t love him. This started off well but became baggy in the middle. A French aristocrat travels to antebellum America to ostensibly writes treatise on American prisons but really to escape political threats. He‘s accompanied by Englishman Parrot, a nominal servant but very much his own man and with a tragic past.

I bailed on the library book (tagged) -due today but also I just couldn‘t get into it. Finished the Christie & audiobook.

I missed #FridayHappyReadingHour yesterday but this morning I am enjoying my coffee and listening to the sound of the rain with the slider open.

I am ready to finish up the tagged for #NancyDrewBR as well as Parrot and Olivier for #OffMyShelf and #10beforetheend today.

Later, after errands and my parents, I will crack in to my pile for #ChristmasCrimeChallenge.
