Uglies Collection: Uglies; Pretties; Specials; Extras (Boxed Set)
Uglies Collection: Uglies; Pretties; Specials; Extras (Boxed Set) | Scott Westerfeld
The complete New York Times bestselling Uglies series is available as a collectible boxed set. The future isn't far away. In Tally Youngblood's world, looks matter. She lives in a society created to function with perfect-looking people who never have a chance to think for themselves. And she's tired of it. First as an ugly, then a pretty, and finally a special, Tally takes down the social infrastructure. And then, a generation later, a world obsessed with fame and instant celebrity--and filled with extras--will reap the consequences. This collectible boxed set contains the complete Ugles series: Uglies, Pretties, Specials, and Extras.

I read these a while ago, but I remember being sooo obsessed with this series — I was definitely on my fantasy/sci-fi kick😂 It‘s not the greatest story of all time, but it was intriguing nonetheless. Also it really speaks to how beauty standards could evolve reallllly badly, which I think is interesting!

#20series20days Day 17
Uglies trilogy/ series
This started out as a trilogy then the author added another book in the same world but more loosely connected. My daughter and I read these together when she was a teen and they sparked lots of good conversations about societal expectations, beauty, complacency, etc.

Andrew65 A new series to me. 4y

I picked this to read because I missed out on it when it first was published . Reccomend. This is a great story about a society divided up by ugly and pretty people. You are an ugly until you turn 16. Then you become a pretty. A very easy read and characters that are interesting. Liked this alot.

Thank you so much @corycatelyn for the lovely #keychainswap box! Uglies has been on my tbr forever and I can't wait to finally read them! I love the keychains, they are so thoughtful and personal (although somewhat hard to photograph 😂😉). Thank you also to @JenlovesJT47 for organizing, I had a blast! Great first swap!

corycatelyn I'm glad you like them! I loved the uglies series so I hope you enjoy them as well 🤗 7y
ameliask8 Sorry for the late post, by the time I got home from school, opened the box, found some good lighting, and sorted through a million photo edits and layout options it was 7:30! 😂 7y

corycatelyn Lol its fine. I love that you tried so hard for good pictures 😂 7y
ameliask8 @corycatelyn Thanks! 😂 I wanted the pictures to accurately represent just how cool the keychains are! (because they are *very* cool) 7y
corycatelyn I'm so glad you like them. It took me forever to find cool ones. I looked at a bunch of different keychains, but wanted to make sure they were perfect. The keychains you sent me are beautiful! I love purple, dolphins, and the beach so you nailed it 😍 7y

I picked this series up when I was thirteen, and held on tight. I‘ve reread it since and find I still love this story. Though I could live without Extras 🤷🏻‍♀️

"Maybe they didn't want you to realize that every civilization has its weakness. There's always one thing we depend on. And if someone takes it away all that's left is some story in a history class."

Unfortunately, (or fortunately?), I've been sick this last week, so I laid in bed and read... and read... and read. All four books! I loved that each book added new ethical dilemmas and further complicated problems I thought I had "figured out".
