I don‘t know whether to wish Leif Enger would give us the gift of more novels, or to be glad that he hasn‘t. Each book is a wonderful gem, the characters deep and fascinating. Here, we are transported to 1915 with Monte Becket (a novelist struggling to produce a second book) and Glendon Hale (an aging outlaw) as they embark on a quest. The characters they meet are unforgettable . Published in 2008. Highly recommended.
It has the feel of a traditional yarn, a tall tale of men in search of themselves.
Thrifty Wednesday finds. I loved Peace Like a River, so I am happily starting So Brave.
"A line only gets grace when it curves, you know." For me, a memorable, beautiful story of what grace can look like and the lifelong journey of failure & redemption~ moments of delight, too!
