I decided to try the first chapter of TOKYO TARAREBA GIRLS VOL 4, just to see if I was right to quit the series, and it helped crystallize why this is such a resounding So-So for me: it‘s gender essentialist in aggressively heteronormative ways. That would be a hurdle for me at the best of times, but it‘s especially disappointing after Higashimura‘s PRINCESS JELLYFISH, which did so many non-conformist things with gender. Sadness.

LogiKitty Where do you get your physical manga books from? (I noticed that you do read some on Manga Rock, but I really enjoy the books for manga cause I can really stare at the illustrations). I find them to be often quite expensive! I wanted to see if there were any used manga stores online or something where I could get them for a more reasonable price 😅 5y

Serotonin @LogiKitty I purchase my physical copies primarily from Amazon (which sometimes has used options). Try checking out Powell‘s Books online (they are a local bookstore near me with used book options). 5y
