Mehso-so

I really enjoyed the plot and the social commentary. I‘ve been reading so much racial & gender criticism lately. Scarlet is clearly a man‘s idea of a dark, broken woman—dyed hair! Next to no clothes when everyone else has coats! Suuuuper skinny with boobs! She‘s almost a caricature. Also, this is the whitest city I‘ve ever seen. 🤷🏼‍♀️ No main characters are PoC.
I‘m not sure the plot is good enough to get past those problems.

The art is a big plus here. I'm trying to not give the whole plot away by saying it's about a woman who takes revenge against corrupt police. I'm disappointed my library system doesn't have Vol 2. Violence😉.

I flew through book one and book two this evening - really liked it! Thought provoking and action packed. I'm peeved that it's at least a year till book 3.
