Earlier this week I read the memoir - and last night I had the chance to see the subject live (and first real public outing in a few years)! Good book. Great show. It‘s been a Hannah Gadsby filled week. 😃 love her.

An absolutely delightful romp of a book! 10/10 would read again. 😄
A young woman, obsessed with gothic romances, sees a young man flailing in the river while walking home. I love her priorities before jumping in to rescue him. 👏📚☂️
Didn‘t get out to any local indie bookstores today, sadly… but I‘m loving this tweet (and feeling called out lol)
#whereisthelie #independentbookstoreday
This brief graphic is such a great darkly comic diversion. Sarcastic and hostile unicorn navigates modern life in small vignettes. Funny/cynical interpretations of tarot cards sprinkled throughout. Just what I needed today 🤣 🦄 💀
Um… wtf did I just read? I picked this up from the library because of the gorgeous cover (flipping through I was intrigued by the art).
I read this last night and I‘m still pondering. It‘s deeply unsettling and what I thought I was getting (young girl creates imaginary friend to cope with loss of a pet) was absolutely not the case.
This book should def come with a bunch of content warnings… and that ambiguous ending, ugh.
Love the art tho.
Planning on binging on some graphic novels for #worldbookday 😄📚💜
It‘s been a minutes since I‘ve spent a whole afternoon/evening reading and I‘m def looking forward to it!
Oh, Hi!!! I can‘t believe it‘s been a literal month since I‘ve been on most social media platforms (and after making a promise to myself to be more conscientious about posting here, lol, sigh)… it‘s been a busy spring and things are finally calming down. 😄
Two recent book purchases I‘m super excited about (and a new baby cactus cause I‘m basically obsessed with plants these days)
How are y‘all doing? 😘
This comic was an absolute hoot… up until that unexpected dark turn towards the end. Still a good story, just wish they‘d kept the tone consistent throughout instead of that abrupt (and gotta say once more: unexpectedly dark) ending. I‘d still recommend.
Panels above is an example of one of the kids doing some super subtle reconnaissance 🤣
This chart is SO Satisfying! My 2022 reading is pretty well balanced so far… for the first time in forever 🤣
Hopefully I can continue this balance for the rest of the year! 🤞📚🤞

Omg, y‘all- this manga is so cute! It‘s the daily life of a young woman who lives with two very different personality animals (grumpy ninja cat and hyper lovey dog) and all the fun (and frustrations) that ensues. I read volumes 1-5 last month and I really hope more is coming! If you need something lighthearted and pure in your life I recommend this.
I can only give this graphic novel a so-so rating because I liked the art (despite the fact that it was equally parts intriguing and disorienting 🤣). The story was very confusing to me - if there was a story at all. 🤷🏻♀️
I‘ve been in a social media slump this month (partly because I discovered stardew valley and any non reading free time is spent on that lol) - but I‘ve missed my Litsy fix so I‘m going to try to do better at checking in here regularly and start participating more. Thankfully #pemberlittens have got quite a few buddy reads going on so🤞I can keep up!
In the meantime - here‘s Elliot being very cat. #catsoflitsy
While my intended January tbr is pretty large - these are the mandatory reads for the month for various book clubs or read-alongs 😂
Totally doable, if I don‘t get distracted by the holiday acquisitions or library books 📚🤞
My year in review: goals met! Some interesting trends in rate of reading throughout the year (summer months look like my highest reading months) and a neat breakdown of genres, format, and fiction vs nonfiction… def need to ramp up on nonfiction on the new year!
Will also pay attention to format on #storygraph going forward cause I know that audio % is way too low 😂 #2021stats #readingstats #thestorygraph
(Booked tagged is last finished of year)
Waiting until the last minute to post just in case I finished a masterpiece today, lol.
My #top21in21 books feel more eclectic than past years - and this is the first time an author has been featured twice in my end of year list.
Becky Chambers wins the year - I read all of her available books and two made my list with 5 stars 🤩
I‘m pleased with the number of nonfiction titles, but am still resolved to read more in the new year!
#top21in2021
Lazy Sunday! Tilney and I are enjoying a quiet day of reading/napping. Elliot (not pictured) has the zoomies… hopefully she tires out soon and joins the couch brigade 😸 #catsoflitsy
Coziest of cozy #caturday evenings 😸

My sis knows me well - this was a surprise gift in the mail yesterday. 🥰
Looks fun! Will hold off on cracking this one open until some chores are done, tho 😄
Might be of interest to my #pemberlittens 😘
I‘m kind of surprised by the fact that I managed to meet/exceed my reading goal for the year this early! Thanks to audiobooks, no doubt. I‘ve also met my tbr goals - and the only outstanding goals are Reading Women Challenge (3 left) and Book Riot areas Harder Challenge (1 left). #readinggoals #thestorygraph
Slowly perusing this sumptuous tome of photographs taken in various libraries around the western world… gorgeousness and stillness throughout. I would love to visit many of these libraries - some to revel in the beauty, others to see how they‘ve changed since the photographs were taken (mostly in the 90s and very early 2000s).
I don‘t know much about John Cena, but his little book of affirmations is surprisingly delightful - helped much by the lovely illustrations. (Super random new library shelf grab ftw 😄)
October was another good reading month - if I keep up this streak I‘ll complete my reading goals by the end of this month (🤞)! I‘m loving how #thestorygraph keeps adding new graphs/stats- the daily tracking is something I‘ve just recently started taking advantage of - time will tell if I keep up 😬
My only quibble with October is how little nonfiction I read - I def need to fix that! #nonfictionnovember 🤩#monthlystats #storygraph
My two dorks: living their best life (and guarding my too many library books - you know you have a problem when you have an entire shelf dedicated to library books 😂) #catsoflitsy
This series continues to deliver! More drama, intrigue, backstory… can‘t wait to see what‘s next 😄
This was really interesting! A bit of a slow burn start - but once it got going, whoo boy! This had so many things I liked! Basic premise: A comic book artist gets pulled into the world of espionage. Of course there‘s more to and the fun of it is reading it fresh. Recommended.
I tore through these YA Techno Thrillers in a matter of days (and just in time for book club, too)! 😄
I was primed to enjoy these because I loved the short story that inspired them - these books are much darker than the original story, but they are eminently readable and I highly recommend.
Late night reading companion. 🥰
Tilney is keeping it weird this evening. What even are cats? 😄 #catsoflitsy #ottercat
OMG. F*#%Ing Finally! 😆🤩😍

Young women in STEM. Espionage. Unchecked Nerdery. This graphic novel was really fun! I hope this series continues. 🤩
I love specialty covers - and this glow in the dark one caught me by surprise. Wasn‘t expecting this appropriately creepy cover for this month! 🤩
Borrowed it from the library a bit ago and am now getting around to it.
Summer ended on a pretty decent note… got through a few chunksters in September and feeling quite pleased about that. 😃
I‘m really liking some of the new stats on #thestorygraph (format being one of the most relevant to me at the moment).
Here‘s hoping o can keep up the reading momentum throughout Autumn 🤞
#monthlystats #storygraph
I had pretty low expectations for this going in - the original series still holds a special place in my heart. I‘m happy to say that I really liked this reimagining/continuation - and I wouldn‘t be mad if there were more of this to come.
Most recent library borrows - it‘s a nonfiction graphic novel kind of week 😄
I really wish more books like this existed when I was younger - such a validating resource this would have been!
I appreciate Burgess‘s candor about her asexuality (as well as her OCD). Would def recommend this one to anyone and everyone. 😃
My September #tbr pile of books I must finish this month (two due soon to the library, 2 are for book clubs, 1 is a book I started in January and am well overdue on returning to 😂)
Am just noticing that there‘s a slight color scheme here 😄
August was a really good month for reading for me! Even managed to get a few chunksters in. 😄
#thestorygraph has added more stats options so I‘m playing around with those and having fun (I think the graph for print vs digital is off, so I need to look into my default book settings 😆)
If I keep up my reading I‘ll maybe even hit my reading goals early this year 🤞 #monthlystats #storygraph
Doing some #audiocoloring while finishing up the first book in the Mistborn series this early afternoon.
Many thanks to @Soubhiville for introducing me to the Querkles coloring books. Love them!
As I was checking out the staff person asked if I wanted the books stamped - I said of course. Such a cute idea! 😍 #nowherebookshop
Field trip day with @Soubhiville down to San Antone to visit Jenny Lawson‘s lovely bookshop. I really loved this shop - it‘s small but it‘s got a great selection of books that felt tailored to me (so dangerous!) - and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Would def visit again (tho my bank account needs to recover a little bit first) 😂📚💜
Good friends and good books make for a great day! #bookstoretourism
I hope this isn‘t too late (time def got away from me this week 🙄😄)
I love the owl mugs @BennettBookworm and am excited to enter your #steamygiveaway - such a fun idea 🦉💜
I don‘t own a lot of mugs, sadly - but my fave is one I actually received from a Litsy swap box years ago. And it just so happens to match my current read right now 😍
July was another good month for reading - especially graphic novels 😄
I still need to go better on my nonfiction goals - ideally I‘d like that to be 50% or more of my reading… but that just hasn‘t happened yet. #monthlystats #storygraph
Day 2 of #litsysummercamp is pretty meh
After being kept up most of the night with lightning and thunder - the day itself is drizzly and unseasonably cool. I‘m not complaining too much tho cause August is usually hotter than hades here 😆
Listening to tagged book to keep in the summer mentality 😄
Once again Chelsea Cain delights and entertains! This mad bonkers comic involves the following:
The Bermuda Triangle
Spies (oh so many spies)
Mermaids
Firm tongue in cheek narration
Alcohol (just about all the alcohol)
And what a fun ride it all was! I read this last night and I‘m still chuckling to myself over this book.
Joining a little late (or maybe just in time 😄)
1. Cabin. No doubt.
2. Camp Kittehs
3. Tagged 💙 🏰
4. Read everyday on my kindle and try to have more nonfiction in the mix 🤓
#litsysummercamp #litsysummercampreadathon
Looking forward to a fun camping experience 😄
A young man and some friends quest to find the mythical folklords in a land that definitely isn‘t all that it appears. I enjoyed this ode to fairy/folk tales and I really hope the series will continue.
Finally catching up with Monstress. I read the first two volumes of the series years ago (reread them this week as a refresher) and then put it aside for other less complex series 😆
The art in Monstress is just stunning. I often find myself having to reread some panels cause I‘ll get lost in the details of the art. That‘s not to say the story isn‘t compelling - the art and writing complement each other very well in this series
Still loving it!
Hoo boy, was this a struggle to read. My expectations for this one may have been too high (or it really is just that bad, lol).
Concept is very cool: gender-bent retelling of the odyssey set in space! 🤩
The execution of the concept is uneven at best. So unfortunate, cause I usually like Fraction‘s work. I probably won‘t continue the series, cause I can‘t imagine it improves as it goes along.
