What a lovely introduction to an incredible poet! These lines are haunting, blending Native American mythology with dark truths about a people's past. There are so many modern, earth-shattering emotions articulated in such small space. Every line is lyrical, and I want to read some of the poems again and again. Has anyone else read any Joy Harjo?
