In the midst of a 1981 meteor shower in Iowa, a homicidal maniac escapes from prison and returns to the farm where his nineteen-year-old son, Ry, must summon three childhood toys--Mr. Furrington, Jesus Christ, and Scowler--to protect himself, his eleven-year-old sister, Sarah, and their mother.

Another audiobook finished for #screamathon. ?

Dark family drama dealing with the worst type of monsters, humans. Ry's father is abusive. His family finds some peace when Dad gets sent to prison. However, their joy is short-lived. He escapes prison and returns to his family seeking revenge.

This psychological thriller is terrifying as Ry calls upon his childhood "friends" to help put an end to his father's evil once again.

#ReadingResolutions Day 23: The young protagonist in this story is 19 year old Ry Burke, son of Marvin Burke – struggling with his own demons. The physical and emotional scars inflicted by his deranged father live within him, waiting for just the right moment to come out. There is an unapologetically-lucid darkness here that permeates the entire narrative making it a veritable #Thriller. My full review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-7KH
