I really enjoyed these short stories inspired by classic Poe stories. I haven‘t read all the originals but still really enjoyed the creativity and modern interpretations of Poe. I also like that the originals are included in this anthology.

A bookish evening yesterday—a great book club meeting in which we discussed Johnny Tremain, what makes a book a classic, & which recent MG/YA books might be regarded as classics in the future. But why just go to book club & talk about books when you can stop by a bookstore & pick up a new book on the way?!? Picked up the tagged book which is a YA collection of short stories retelling 13 of Poe‘s greatest stories—this should be fun!!! ❤️🎃🍁🍂❤️
Some of the retellings just didn‘t hit the mark for me, however the retelling of The Cask of the Amontillado, The Oval Portrait, The Pit and the Pendulum, and the Tell Tale Heart were spot on. Good read if you are a devotee of Poe as I am. Plus very LGBTQ inclusive!!!
I bought the physical book yesterday, but @gibblr informed me that most of the authors read their work. Goodbye, Audible credit!
