An enchanting & captivating fantasy fairy tale retelling that is even better than the first! More action, more adventure, & the same characters that you grew to know & love in the first book. Add in some riddles, Greek gods, mythological beasts, & even more magical powers, & you really can't go wrong. I absolutely devoured this book that takes Kora & her friends on the adventure of a lifetime, to not only save their kingdom but the whole world.

This has so many aspects I like (retelling fantasy, pirates, and mythology) but overall it just didn‘t hit all the marks for me. I felt we were in Kora‘s head too much and many side characters felt flat. The world seemed interesting but again there just wasn‘t enough of the world for me to be fully immersed in. I do think it‘s a decent YA fantasy but not as well done as many others.
Thanks to #Netgalley for the copy in exchange for a review.

Ash.on.the.line This is book 2 based on the man who could turn anything he touches into gold. Focusing on his daughter trying to end the curse. 4y

A great sequel to a great series! Loved the extra world-building and answers to questions, especially ones that involved Kora's mother.

Anyone else read A Curse of Gold Yet?
