My mama is the lady who inspired me to read (even though it took many, many years!)

The first book I remember her reading to me is The Gammage Cup; a story about embracing your individuality and not conforming to social norms. What an amazing thing for a woman to recognize, embrace and want to instill in her daughter in an era when people just weren't as concerned about these things.
