Low pick. It‘s billed as a sequel to The Island of the Blue Dolphins, but it‘s not exactly that. I‘d say it‘s adjacent. I found the ending a little sad.

Love Scott O‘Dell‘s books! Zia and her brother Mando live and work at the Santa Barbara Mission. Zia‘s dream is to sail back to the Island of Dolphins to retrieve her aunt Karana (Zia‘s deceased mom‘s sister) who lives alone there. Sequel to Island of the Blue Dolphins.

I did it! I finished this last book of the year, officially completely all my reading challenges, and had my best year of reading ever. 🎉🙌🏻 Bring on 2018!

My last read of the year—to complete my last category for #LitsyReadingChallenge. We'll see if I can squeeze in enough reading time between all the family time today... #Procrastination #MountTBR
It was boring. The first book was definitely better than this one. It does not have the same anticipation and climax as the first book. There are also a lot of information left out. I would love to know more about Zia but the book was more centered on Karana and how Zia felt about her. The title should have been "Karana". Mando was not even present most of the time. I would love to see the dynamics between Zia and Mando more.
