You would think that Singapore schools would teach books set in Asia but all I remember from literature class in secondary school & junior college (ages 13-18) are all these classics by British authors!

I-read-and-eat That seems unusual. Here in the Netherlands we mostly read Dutch authors and some English or French books in the language classes. Can you recommand any good translated works from Singapore authors? 8y
Procrastireader Well at least you hit the high notes! 8y
RealLifeReading @I-read-and-eat I think recently they've begun introducing Singapore writers to students in lit class. There are plenty of Singapore writers who write in English but the problem is more of whether they are found in the Netherlands! I love Balli Kaur Jaswal's work but I'm not sure if shes published internationally. There's Catherine Lim, Ovidia Yu, Edwin Thumboo 8y
