I picked this one yrs ago when my daughter was in OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books.) She read it and was underwhelmed & didn‘t bother w/the audio so I finally queued it up to clear it from the deck.
She was right: The premise is interesting (future undersea colonies very much like 18th-century pioneers w/the hopes & challenges they face) and a bit of intrigue w/pirates, politics and, a light touch of romance;but it ultimately lacks narrative force
