"I was going to have to leave you anyway. Because I loved you too much to drag you down with me." My hand crept up to caress the rigid line of his jaw. "Why'd you change your mind?" I whispered. "After I calmed down a little and had a chance to think, I figured . . . I love you enough to try and deserve you. I would do anything, be anything, for you."

Used book as you can see but I don‘t mind, it‘s what‘s on the inside that counts! I believe this is a contemporary which I‘ve not read from Lisa Kleypas.
I‘m trying to reacquaint myself with my TBR while on a book buying ban for the month.

Stayed up late last night and read about 1/2 this book. I wish that we also got Hardy Cates' viewpoint instead of just Haven's. I would love to see inside his head. But other than that, I'm very much enjoying this book.

One of my absolute favourite books is Blue Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas. It deals with a woman escaping an abusive marriage. The MC is so strong in this book and overcomes so much. A true survivor.

Five stars. I love Lisa Kleypas‘s historical novels and I also adore her contemporary ones, especially Blue-Eyed Devil and Hardy Cates. The characters she created felt real and especially in the current climate, important.

Thought this one had an interesting angle on raising awareness of domestic violence issues. Although, as always, it's hard to give those issues the complexity they deserve Ann's also wrap things up in the tidy bow the genre deserves.

You know I do believe that Hardy Cates is one of swooniest characters I have ever encountered. Hell, as I'm writing this it's all coming back in a vivid rush.... Hardy being all ruff and rugged and so damn sweet . And that voice.. sweet Georgia peaches its heaven. Leaving me wanting to go back out to my car and listen all over again. Sadly I'm forced to adult today and am at work.

Sweet Georgia peaches....the audiobook makes me want my own Hardy Cates even more than when I read the book.

listening to the audio version and the narrator has a southern accent.... a real one...meaning every word is a purr....Although I really wish they would have gotten a male narrator to do Hardy. Just imagine it... a deep southern voice ...rumbling..darlin...
