I started this YA fantasy last night. It looks like it includes the point of view of 6 characters, so let's see if I can keep them straight.

I haven't been requesting or reading many ARCs this year, but I decided I needed to read this one. J.R. Ward is venturing into romantasy with her book coming out in February. It definitely has the stereotypical romantasy title.
#currentlyreading

Spending my last few hours of the weekend starting this book. While I really really enjoyed reading my last four books, all romances, I need to switch up genres. This looks cute.

My October is not a spooky reading month apparently. So far I've only read romances. And I'm starting another one. I'm reading Ali Hazelwood's newest, Mate. The Aardvark Book Club edition has a green ombre hardcover. So pretty!

Finally the third and final book in the Lyonesse series is out. It's my long weekend read.

Sad news for libraries. One of our major book wholesalers is going under. This company had been around forever. This closing is going to majorly affect libraries. You may notice a disruption in your local library getting new books. My library had already moved over to ordering from other wholesalers because of backorder issues with them.

My BOTM arrived! And I'm starting it immediately. I'm in the mood for another romance. I also received a book sleeve for finishing their book challenge.😍

Neal Shusterman. He says he mostly writes on the go, when creativity hits him. He also doesn't believe in writer's block. He gets stuck, but it is an expected part of the writing process.

I might have skipped a session and camped out with my co-worker in the ballroom so we could get good seats for Abby Jimenez' keynote. We lucked out, she's taking pictures and doing autographs beforehand.

R.L. Stine was our morning keynote. He said his ideas for books come in reverse. He comes up with titles first and then a story grows from that title.

Well it took almost two hours, but I was finally able to get into the Aardvark app and pick my October books. I really wanted Mate. The new KJ Charles looks good too.

Up next because 1. I can't believe I haven't read this Abby Jimenez yet and 2. I get to see Abby Jimenez speak at a library conference this week. Keynote speakers also include children's authors Laura Numeroff🍪🐁 and R.L. Stine🫣, YA author Neil Shusterman, and cookbook author Molly Yeh. I think it's going to be a great conference.

The Raven Scholar is one of my favorite reads this year. I've been eyeing this pretty Illumicrate edition and finally decided to get it.😍

"It was an unfortunate truth that in the Venn diagram of 'qualified to teach magic' and 'still alive,' the overlap consisted almost entirely of people who had always been much too sensible to accidentally get eaten by a demon." - pg 1

My Owlcrate Romance was delivered yesterday. I'm in the mood for a romance, so I'm starting it now. It's a very pretty edition!😍

This was fun! It's an urban fantasy centered around urban myths in Los Angeles. Holland is working on her thesis centered around one of those myths. And then one day she is thrust further into that world when she discovers how to contact the Watch Man, who can tell you the date and time of your death. She's sent on a hurried chase to find the only thing that will save her. I really like the way Garber writes. And I liked Holland a lot.

Anybody else doing the Goodreads' Challenges? So far I have collected them all. I had planned on reading Everything is Tuberculosis for the Lightning Round challenge, but I discovered The Hounding counted towards two categories once I finished it. It's really satisfying seeing the bookmarks change from blank to illustrated with the achievements.

Currently reading. This book will collect the final achievement for the Goodreads' Summer Challenge - Poolside Puzzlers.

Stopped at the library to take care of something and my Aardvark books had been delivered. The naked hardcover for Lucky Day is so cool.

August was a little bit of a slower reading month for me. I finished The Wedding People last night and it was my favorite book I read in August.

Not quite the long weekend for me yet; I work tomorrow. But I am starting this book tonight.

September's Allurial Books are out and I ended up getting all 3. I want to read all of them!!

September #botm books dropped! I went with the new Rachel Harrison. And they are doing a special sprayed edge edition of Alchemy of Secrets, so I added that one too. It's my birthday month, so that add-on was mostly free. I just had to pay the $2.99 special edition charge.

Periwinkle and I have been taking it easy the last few days. She had surgery on Thursday - a tumor removed from her chest area and a tooth removed. She's recovering well.🐕❤️
I'm starting this fantasy this evening.

My brother made this for me! Fun way to keep track of books read.😁

I'm back home after a week away. I brought this book to read on the two flights and got 115 pages read. It's...weird. Weird usually works for me, but I'm not sure how I feel about this one yet.

I'm in New Haven, CT with my mom and we checked out some Yale spots today. Here is a picture of one side of their stacks in their amazing rare books library.

Currently Reading. I have an ARC of her next book, but realized I haven't read her last.

Reading the new Holly Jackson for my first book of August. I think this is her adult debut?

I finished 8 books in July. The Knight and the Moth was the standout, but it was a pretty enjoyable reading month for me.

August #botm are here! I picked three - a true crime, a YA fantasy, and a thriller.😍

New in. I forgot I was able to order a signed copy from Barnes & Noble.

Starting First-Time Caller tonight. I have the Owlcrate Romance edition. The sprayed edge says "You are the magic".

Started this non-fiction today. I watched the Prime documentary about these murders last weekend. And then cataloged this book this week and decided I was interested in learning more.

Since my fantasy itch wasn't scratched with my last read, I'm starting another one.

This book ended up being a very fast read. The margins were ridiculously wide. It probably would have been cut in half in pages if they had done normal margins. Anyway it was a pretty blah book for me. I'll not be continuing the series.

Received my first Allurial box. The box got damaged in shipping, but thankfully didn't damage anything inside. It came with the book, a bookmark, and stickers. I'm happy with the quality of the first book.
