USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR and AGATHA AWARD-WINNING SERIES "The authentically Southern Boyer writes with heart, insight, and a deep understanding of human nature." - Hank Phillippi Ryan, Agatha Award-Winning Author of What You See "Boyer deftly shapes characters with just enough idiosyncrasies without succumbing to cliches while infusing her lighthearted plot with an insightful look at families." - Oline Cogdill, South Florida Sun Sentinel "Southern family eccentricities and manners, a very strongly plotted mystery, and a heroine who must balance her nuptials with a murder investigation ensure that readers will be vastly entertained by this funny and compelling mystery." - Kings River Life Magazine "An exciting, humorous mystery...authentically Southern. I absolutely love reading about my hometown and have been known to go check out a location to see if she got it right-she always does!" - Martha Thomas Rudisill, Artist and 11th Generation Charlestonian "I'd read anything from this author-she is a terrific writer and her humor is so unexpected it makes me laugh out loud...This is such a great book I wish I could've stretched it out longer. I can't wait for the next one." - My Five Star Book Series "The quirky characters and their quintessentially Southern names, and the intricacies of detective work are written in such detail that you disappear into the narrative without once being rudely awakened by awkward writing, contrived situations or inconsistencies. It is as if this is your hometown, and you are the detective. In short, I enjoyed every word of this book." - Librarian at Jefferson-Madison Regional Library System "Fun and filled with the beauty of the Lowcountry. This is one of my favorite series." - For the Love of Books The Charleston streets are dressed for the holidays in sophisticated Southern style: topiaries adorned with red ribbons, garland entwined with white lights, and poinsettias potted in gold planters. The high class bordello in a stately historic home is certainly no exception. When Private Investigator Liz Talbot's dear friend Olivia swears she saw a dead body in the parlor of this bordello, one Olivia accidentally co-owns, Liz promptly comes to her aid. With her wedding back home on Stella Maris less than a week away, Liz must juggle one elderly madam, two ex and future in-laws, three ghosts in the bordello, four giddy bridesmaids, five lovely courtesans, six suspicious patrons...and a partridge in a pear tree as she tries to keep her bridesmaid out of jail and live to walk down the aisle. Related subjects include: women sleuths, private investigator mystery series, cozy mysteries, murder mysteries, whodunit mysteries (whodunnit), book club recommendations, Southern fiction, Southern humor, Southern living. This just is so much fun. It‘s a good murder mystery, but the story still feels light and enjoyable. It‘s what I think a cozy mystery should be. I love the main characters. And, since I don‘t have any readily available Charleston area pictures but the story also involves a wedding, I decided to use a picture from @Ambrosnazzy ‘s wedding. There‘s nothing wrong with mixing a review and a proud mama moment 😊

ferskner I forgot about this series! I live in that area (also on an island!) and need to get back to it. Thanks for the reminder! 7y

Skeebies05 The birdcage veil 👍🏽 So lovely. 7y
Lynnsoprano @ReadingEnvy @ferskner It‘s been a few years since we visited that area, but I love it. The last time we stayed at a b&b in Mt. Pleasant and went out on a boat one day on an ecotour. Beautiful! I got some great pictures, which are unfortunately on my old computer 🙁 7y
Lynnsoprano @Skeebies05 That veil seriously cost more than her dress😄 But it was gorgeous. 7y

Next up for #MountTBRChallenge is another Liz Talbot mystery. I love this series. It combines cozy mystery with Southern sassy chick-lit that is fun when I want something relaxing. Great characters. I‘m hooked already.

Wife How many books in the series? Do they need to be read in order?🧐 7y
Lynnsoprano @wife There are at least 5 books. I‘m reading them out of order, and it‘s not been a problem. 7y
Wife I hesitate to start a series because I have such a TBR #stackie, but this one sounds fun. 7y
drokka I've been trying to get a hold of these forever. They are tough to find in Canada. Personally I think all books she be available everywhere, publisher blahblahblahs be damned. 😂 7y
Lynnsoprano @drokka I can‘t believe you can‘t get these! That‘s ridiculous 😡 I agree, if you want a book, you should be able to get the book. 7y
