A Palm for Mrs. Pollifax
A Palm for Mrs. Pollifax | Dorothy Gilman
4 posts | 3 read
“Mrs. Pollifax gives Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple a rival to reckon with.”—Toronto Star “What we are looking for—aside from the stolen Plutonium, Mrs. Pollifax—is evil in its purest form.” Mrs. Pollifax was leading a very full life: Garden Club, karate, yoga—and a little spying now and then. This time the mysterious Mr. Carstairs sent her to Switzerland—to a famous health resort where the world’s intelligence agents had gathered. The mission: to track down a missing package of plutonium. Just enough to make a small atom bomb. It was a job that suited Mrs. Pollifax’s talents. She was good with people—and good at sniffing out their secrets. But it was not until she became enchanted with Robin, the young jewel thief, that her new adventure really began. . . .

Well, I haven‘t been on Litsy in ages because we went on vacation for spring break. We went to Universal and Great Wolf Lodge this week... both of which are now closed till April. Soooo that‘s reassuring. Either we lucked out, or we‘re all about to die. 🤣🤣😱😷

Anyway, since the news cycles are so crazy right now, I‘ve been delighting in a reread of the Mrs. Pollifax series. #pollifaxathon

julesG Rumour has it that panic-buying a lifetime supply of toilet paper is the cure for Corona. Not all is lost, unless there's no TP left. 🤣🤣🤣 5y

Pickpick

This is one of my favourite Mrs. Pollifax novels. The story moves at a breakneck pace and has some funny moments.

I was up before 7 (on a Sunday, ON VACATION 😑), so I decided to grab the opportunity for a re-read of a book I still have at my parents' place.

Melissa_J Don‘t you hate when you wake up early when you don‘t have to? That happens to me all the time, but funnily enough I never wake up early on work days 😂 6y
rabbitprincess @Melissa_J It is so annoying! Part of that might have been the sunlight; we have blackout curtains at home, but my old room at my parents' place doesn't, so that probably woke me up. 6y
