Mrs. Pollifax Unveiled | Dorothy Gilman
post image
Pickpick

If you‘ve never read this series, they feature Mrs. Pollifax, an elderly widow, who gets tired of her Garden Club routine and walks into the CIA to volunteer as a courier.
Over the last 2 1/2 months I‘ve loved journeying all over the world from Mexico to Bulgaria to Burma to Syria w/ Mrs. Pollifax! I listened to most of them on audio, bc Barbara Rosenblat‘s narration is phenomenal.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for this one! #howjessicareadsin2020 #pollifaxathon

Here‘s my March in review! Loved the top five, liked things less toward the bottom. Actively disliked the two at bottom right. My #pollifaxathon is going to continue in April! 🙂 #howjessicareadsin2020

Mrs. Pollifax on Safari | Dorothy Gilman

My #pollifaxathon is going to continue at home as we socially distance. 😝

If you‘ve never read this series, they‘re about Mrs. Pollifax, a grandmother of 3 who gets bored in retirement, and applies for a job as a CIA courier. Her adventures are hilariously legendary, and always resolve happily. So far in the last week I‘ve been to Albania, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Switzerland with Mrs. Pollifax. And now, on to Zambia!

Crazeedi I've hear of these books, but never read, going to look for them, sounds like fun reads 5y
slategreyskies I‘ve never heard of these. Do they fall into the cozy mystery genre? I‘ll have to look for them at my library! :) 5y
howjessicareads @slategreyskies Yeah they‘re cozy-ish. Although at least someone dies in every book. And a few books have mentions of torture. But Mrs. Pollifax is just a delight! @Crazeedi 5y

Angitron This sounds like the perfect thing for me to read right now! 5y
Samantha.1020 I‘ve read the earlier books in this series and found them to be delightful! I should reread them and get back to this series soon! 5y
katy4peas I love Mrs. Pollifax! She is similar to Miss Marple with the coziness factor of the plot. Nice choice! 5y

A Palm for Mrs. Pollifax | Dorothy Gilman

Well, I haven‘t been on Litsy in ages because we went on vacation for spring break. We went to Universal and Great Wolf Lodge this week... both of which are now closed till April. Soooo that‘s reassuring. Either we lucked out, or we‘re all about to die. 🤣🤣😱😷

Anyway, since the news cycles are so crazy right now, I‘ve been delighting in a reread of the Mrs. Pollifax series. #pollifaxathon

julesG Rumour has it that panic-buying a lifetime supply of toilet paper is the cure for Corona. Not all is lost, unless there's no TP left. 🤣🤣🤣 5y
