Not a bad read. I wasn‘t a fan of some of the back and forth with the dog‘s POV and her human handler. I can at least say that it has a happy ending, maybe even a little teary as I finished. I don‘t usually read dog books, but this was pretty good. It does kind of make me want to learn more about the use of dogs in war... #vhsreads #viloniareads #dogbooks #historicalfiction

This was a book recommend by a student and my librarian at the high school. It is okay, but I really can‘t get over how they named this poor German Shepherd “Cracker”. Why? That is not the name of a dog...much less a German Shepard. It is a little better that the full name is Firecracker...although is is worse when you find out that as a puppy the dog was named “Magnificent Dawn of Venus”. #vhsreads #viloniareads #dogbooks #names
