so-so

I think D H Lawrence is another author like Charles Dickens for me... I really want to like his stories but trying to get through all the descriptive language in this was like wading through treacle....

I didn't hate it, but I'm also glad it's over and I don't think I will ever recomend it.

Another Trainride, another little black classic. I‘ve just finished the first of four short stories of D.H. Lawrence. His language is absolutely beautiful, I love the pictures he paints with his words. I hope the other stories are as good. I am definitely planning on reading more of his works!

CaliforniaCay I've only read one of his books, but he does have a very unique way of writing. I was so captivated I want to read everything by him now. I've never even heard of this one before. Stacked! 5y

CaliforniaCay @ju.ca.no I had to read women in love for a lit class years ago, and it always stuck with me. I think I wouldn't have liked it if I had read it on my own, but since discussing it to pieces in class I feel like it opened my mind up a bit about his writing. 5y
