On the border between Arizona and New Mexico, lies the little mining town of Cibola, one of the few outposts on the edge of civilization. In this world, monsters roam the desert and the nefarious Company is slowly taking over the United States. Only a few brave souls venture into the desert in search of love, salvation, and a purpose to their lives. When monster hunter Hazel Griffin comes to town in search of a childhood friend, she discovers all is not well. Father Thomas must struggle with his inner demons and his faith. Dulcinea Martinez searches the desert to find her strength. Others come to town looking for all they have lost, and finding what they meant to leave behind. Not all who come to Cibola get what they want, but they always discover what they need.
