Grass for His Pillow is the sequel to Across the Nightingale Floor. Hearn does a wonderful job portraying a world of samurai and courtesans, peasants and merchants.

Again I feel it's written as if it was a Heian Japan, but I'll read the next book soon.

All the while I was thinking "please don't die, please don't die!" I hope there were a lot of fantasy books set in Japan ?

This book started and ended so well, it kept me hooked and turning the pages. However there was a patch in the middle that I really struggled to get through. I'd fallen so in love with these characters are the world they live in during the first book I was determined see it through and I'm so glad i did 😍

EmmaPlum @Bookworm-Bobbie I'm about 20 pages from the end. I really struggled with this book in the middle. It's picked up at the end though 7y

Well, my favourite colour is blue in all its shades, and in fact l have many books with blue covers. Yes, l know we shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but you know...

It's a mix of books l've read and others l still haven't

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Love blue too!! 💙 7y

This one took me awhile to get into. About halfway into it. But I think a lot of it had to do with the characters not being able to do what they wanted to do and I was upset LOL Which, to me, just emphasizes how great a writer Lian Hearn really is. I think I am going to take a sizable break before I start book 3. But, really, another wonderful book by an amazing writer who can just wholeheartedly transport you into her world.
