The Babysitter from Another Planet
The Babysitter from Another Planet | Stephen Savage
2 posts | 4 read
When their parents go out for the evening, two kids are left with a babysitter unlike any they've ever had before--an alien from another planet! But even though she seems scary and strange, the kids quickly see that this babysitter can do everything, and they can't wait for her to come back again. With references to everything from '50s Science Fiction movies (sure to produce a chuckle from knowing parents) to ET, bestselling author STEVE SAVAGE has produced a visual and verbal tour de force that will have kids begging for more.

While I thought the story was cute, the illustration style felt like 90s clipart. Sounds mean, I know! I enjoy a variety of unique illustration styles in picture books, from the very simple to the insanely detailed, but this didn't feel like a style at all. I'd suggest a team up with an illustrator but it looks like he's done different styles in other books? Guess this one read less space age more soulless to me, took away from the story. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This book was cute but definitely not my favorite book I have ever read. Two kids are left alone with an alien babysitter. While at first the kids think she‘s strange they soon find out she can make my thing fun. This quirky tale takes you on an adventure of a night in with a very unusual chaperone!
