If a stray virus accidentally killed all the men on earth, wouldn't women flourish in their absence? Through a unique narrative style that features clear prose inter-spliced with futuristic 'original documents,' Athena's Choice tells the story of what happens when a virus mistakenly kills every last man on earth. Set in the year 2099, it explores a dynamic, all-female society torn apart by the explosive question of whether women should, or should not, bring men back to life -- a question ultimately determined by a troubled young girl who is forced to make a harrowing choice. "Fast-paced, utterly original, and one of the most captivating things I have ever read." -Amazon reviewer in Houston "This is science fiction at its best." -Amazon reviewer in Chicago "I blew off my dinner plans to finish this book." -Amazon reviewer in San Francisco

Pickpick

An interesting new adult dystopian novel based upon a futuristic society where men no longer exist. There were a lot of pieces at work in this novel & it felt fairly intricate though easy to read. The plot was complex enough to keep my interest, but not so convoluted that I found it confusing. Unfortunately, I was left unfulfilled by the ending. Overall though, this was a fun and imaginative read and I look forward to seeing more from this author.

BehindthePages I love the cover! 5y

Ok, so this author is on Goodreads, and actually responding to reviews, so now I feel hampered in my snarky hate reading of it. Ugh! I‘m so conflicted! It‘s terrible but I am having fun doing an Athena‘s Choice Mystery Science Theater. It genuinely needs some copy editing and some revision, so I could be helpful. But I‘m not sure if it‘s worth it. And I don‘t like hurting people so I can‘t unleash the full snark on a real live person! Gahhh!!!!!!!

Chelsey I should say it‘s terrible so far. I‘m only on page 24 6y

I‘m on page nine and I‘m already pissed at the author. Why don‘t men do a modicum of research before they write characters that they don‘t represent! 🤬🤬🤬

Chelsey This. This is why representation is important. Because men insist on writing drivel like this. Why do men insist on writing women characters if they have no intention of writing women the way that we actually are? Do you know the ave body fat for a female? Even a female athlete averages 14-20%! 6y
Chelsey The ave lady is closer to 25-31%! 13 is absurd! He‘s attempting to world build a post male society and this is what he thinks we‘ve done with the technology we‘ve designed? I think I just decided to hate read this though. It‘s an arc and boy howdy are they ever going to get an honest review from me. 6y
