pickFirst two-thirds - dark, kinda creepy, a oppressive atmosphere of gloom, misery & crawling claustrophobia, the father's grief is palpable, the whining mosquitoes visceral. A growing, uncomfortable tension.
Last third - above emotions tumbled headlong into a more action driven conclusion. 2 stories inevitably merging, a cracking ending, the hope of healing, done without sentiment but with some gut-wrenching emotions nonetheless.
Great read.
