Grace
Grace: A Novel | Linn Ullmann
3 posts | 2 read
Johan has sometimes been fortunate but never particularly successful: he lost his job for a breach of professional integrity, and he and his son havent spoken in eight years. His greatest happinesshis graceis his competent, confident wife Mai, who loves him unreservedly. Now, with six months to live, and with Mais help, he intends to die well. But as he broods on the pleasures and regrets of his life, and death slowly envelops him, Johans resolution begins to waver. Morally intricate and full of sly humor, Grace is a touching and unexpectedly dramatic exploration of the territory between life and death. From the Trade Paperback edition.

Mehso-so

the subject is a very complicated one, assisted suicide. it was at times funny and poetic, but I feel the novel is too short to ever reach its full potential. i liked how it ended. #booktober
