An academic lie turns deadly in this novel that questions just how far we'll go to promote what we wish was true.

Pickpick

A young woman realizes she has spent eight years towards a dissertation founded on a mistake. What follows is a surrealist account of her unraveling life. This brief novel won‘t be for everyone, but I loved it.

I almost bailed on this one. I got to the end of the book and wasn‘t sure exactly what was going on. The book had a good premise - I do like literary fiction especially one that revolves around books. This one was a little too slow and confusing for me. I feel like I missed something important that would have explained everything.

Mehso-so

This book completely eluded me. It starts with a woman who has discovered something in the archives that could change everything about art history but then her credibility starts to unravel. It turns at times surreal, where she seems to be experiencing things others are not (or is this mental illness?) ⤵ï¸

ReadingEnvy Her relationships seem to suffer from harm she caused but doesn‘t always remember, and then her friend groups feel like a sea of unknowable women with a mass of stories. I want others to read this and explain it to me. 5y
JenniferP I‘m starting it today, so I‘ll let you know what I think! 5y
ReadingEnvy @JenniferP oh great! I really liked the beginning. 5y
