This book was a mixed bag for me. I loved that it was told by multiple narrators across different generations, the focus of the story was interesting, and the author has a clear voice. Unfortunately I just didn‘t connect with many of the characters. There were parts of the story that, to me, felt highly contrived and not genuine to the situations in which the characters were placed. Not my favourite. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I enjoyed this book. Dual timeline from present day to WWII. Historical fiction, romance, faith, loss, and secrets all play a part. 💜💜💜

On a journey to Holland during WWII, you will meet ordinary citizens, brave resistance workers and the oppressive enemies who were part of the German occupation. Amidst much brutality, brave souls took steps to thwart the enemy and managed to save 642 precious children. I loved the ending of the book where everything came together in such a beautiful way. I shed many tears. Well done!
