I think Saul Barnard was one of my very first literary crushes... I read this, for the first time, somewhere in primary school...and re-rearing it again for probably the 20th time, I still love him and the book!😍😍😍

GlitterGirl @bookandcat I sort of did it out of my head...I am not a good knitter, I can't read patterns and I can only do one type of stitch. But I can explain process: I took an average size book (this one was 21cm x 14 cm) and knitted a piece that was about the same size for the front and one that was ten rows more for the back and put them together with something youtube called a 'mattress stitch'. Front: 30 stitches / 40 rows Back: 30 stitches / 50 rows 6y

Another famous #indigenousauthor for #junebookbugs is Dalene Matthee! Best known for her books 'Fiela's Child' and 'Circles in a Forest', both set in The Knysna Forest (Western Cape Province, South Africa).
Matthee was an Afrikaans author, but most oh her books were translated into English and several other languages! I am proud owner of 12/13 of her books! The one I short is out of print and nearly impossible to find!
