Set in the current day, this is the final book in the series that began with Once, continued with Then and is . . . Now. Felix is a grandfather. He has achieved much in his life and is widely admired in the community. He has mostly buried the painful memories of his childhood, but they resurface when his granddaughter Zelda comes to stay with him. Together they face a cataclysmic event armed only with their with gusto and love—an event that helps them achieve salvation from the past, but also brings the possibility of destruction. Now is one of Kirkus Reviews' Best Children's Books of 2012

The concluding part of this lovely and moving trilogy about the Holocaust takes us to the present day in Australia, where Zelda struggles to live up to the namesake who died at the hands of the Nazis. Gorgeous book, bubbling over with understanding and humanity.

This is a series and I absolutely love it so far! It‘s very sad I‘m on the third book. It‘s about the Holocaust :)

Started on book number 3 tonight, Now.
Read by Mary-Anne Fahey, an Australian comedian who used to play the hilarious character, Kylie Mole, for those who have seen the Australian comedy show, The Comedy Company.
Loving it so far.
It's set in current day Australia & Felix is 80 years old. It's spoken through a little girl's perspective, Felix's granddaughter, who knows all about Felix's childhood in WW2.
Glad my daughter is eager to cont reading

CarolynM Kylie Mole - there's a blast from the past 😂 4y
Curiouser_and_curiouser @CarolynM 😂😂😂 I've still got her diary too, The Diary of Kylie Mole. 😊 4y

Mehso-so

As a standalone story of grownup Felix & his granddaughter this is fine. As what was planned to be the finale to a trilogy of a young Jewish boy in hiding during WWII this was wholly disappointing. No wonder it was followed up with After, Soon, and Maybe. Readers couldn‘t have been satisfied. You could skip this and go to After. The synopsis sounds like it picks up where Then left off. I can‘t wait to read it.

Went to the library to get the tagged book, next in the series I‘ve been reading. Ended up with this #libraryhaul, most for #middlegrademay.

sblbooks Looks like you've got a good stack there. I haven't read any of these, but a couple are on my TBR. 6y
kspenmoll Always a haul when at the library even with the best of intentions!! 6y
SaturnDoo I read Blankets a a few years ago and I enjoyed it. If I remember correctly it's semi autobiographical and religion plays a central role in it. 5y
