This book contains three short stories. “A Gentle Creature” is a sad story of a young woman who was orphaned and is married off to an older man with some love and other unfortunate events. “White Nights” is another sad pseudo love story of a painfully introverted man. “Dreams of a Ridiculous Man” is a little cheerier, also the reason I got this book after reading Master and Margarita, which is supposed to be inspired from this story.
