This is an inspirational middle grade nonfiction book that details the story of the Civilian Conservation Corps--one of FDR's New Deal projects. The book covers why FDR created the CCC and what the CCC accomplished. It not only looks at their successes but also the repercussions of some of the projects. This book was incredibly informative. I learned that the CCC not only saved forests, but also an entire generation of Americans.
