O Fallen Angel | 
pickHaving read a few other books of hers, I've been curious about this, her debut novel. I devoured this book in a couple sittings. Its bracing, vitriolic satire of American culture had its moments of dark humour, some almost as dark as & reminiscent of Lautreamont. The book possesses a bristling, clear-eyed anger. Like the best satires, it challenges its reader to see the world in a critical & new way. Compulsively readable & ultimately unsettling.

pickI've never read anything like this before. It was really good and took me a few days to recover after reading it. Definitely my favorite kind of reading experience.
I bought this based on hearing about it on #allthebooks by @Liberty and @rebeccaschinsky and filed it away on my #tbr shelf. I picked up yesterday, not remembering what it's about, and it's wackadoodle. But in a good way.

pickThis is a caustic and hilarious and horrifying gut-punch of a satire. Definitely not for everyone, but I zipped through it. Kate Zambreno, I'm coming for your other novels!
