pickBarbara O‘Neal is one of my fave authors. There‘s always many layers to her stories. The estrangement between Jewel & her father. The unconventional family between Jewel & Michael. The reunion with Jewel‘s family when she moves back home. All of the characters have rich backstories & she paints the pictures clearly it‘s like watching a movie. The recipes sprinkled throughout are an added bonus. It‘s a book filled with beauty, sorrow, joy, & loss.
