LP is my all time favorite band & this is an absolute must read for any LP fan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
LP is my all time favorite band & this is an absolute must read for any LP fan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Two words. Time travel. It‘s witchy. It‘s Christmasy. It doesn‘t take place in Graves Glen for the majority of the story like the rest of the series, but it‘s still fantastic!
All the fall & witchy vibes. This gave me Practical Magic vibes. It‘s a pretty cozy read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So good & a perfect wrap to this whole series! It‘s raunchy and hilarious so prepare yourselves!
Another perfect story in Dream Harbor. I think I liked this one more than the first because there‘s a lot of similarities between me & Hazel. Like Hazel, as I approach my 30s I worry I‘ll regret how I spent my time. Unlike me Hazel decides to do something about it. Hazel & Noah decide to have a summer of fun before her 30th birthday. Noah is a total cinnamon roll book boyfriend. This was seriously just a fun & cute read.
The story follows Liza who falls for her brother‘s best friend Matt. Her brother Vinny has forbidden Matt from pursuing Liza so they keep things secret until they know if it‘s serious between them. Overall I liked the story & the fall vibes. I really only disliked one thing & that was Vinny‘s character. The overprotective brother trope was to the extreme with him & he made me roll my eyes most of the time. Liza & Matt‘s story is cute though.
Wow. The ending was the perfect lead into the next book in the series. It left me with the feeling of a rubber band about to snap. I really enjoyed the story. Even though it‘s a work of fiction there‘s plenty of material that isn‘t. When I was in school we were taught about the holocaust, but we weren‘t really told much about Hitler before then. The Beer Hall Putsch was new information to me & I really loved that I learned something new.
Oh my gosh I need more! Not only was this cute & witchy, but it was so funny! The narrators really brought these characters to life & I absolutely loved the voices Laura used for the Merriweather women. I was in tears from laughing at times. I really think the audio adds to how amazing the story was. The plot was great. I didn‘t feel like the story ever dragged. I loved every second of it.
Absolutely beautiful & heartbreaking. A middle-grade novel centered around a 12 year old boy who has community service at a nursing home where he meets Josey, a 107 year old holocaust survivor. An unlikely friendship is formed and Josey tells the boy his story even though Josey hasn‘t spoken a word in years to anyone.
This is the first in a new cozy mystery series & I‘m excited to read more. Shamrock Cove is the perfect idealistic small town.
This book was fantastic. I‘m obsessed with this series & I‘m very impatiently waiting for the 4th book in the series. I‘m gonna be really sad when it‘s all over, but it‘s so so good!
This book had me giggling like an idiot. The concept was so intriguing. I‘ve read books & watched movies about the world ending before but never where the sun explodes. Before I even started reading I was racking my brain trying to figure out how this was going to play out. I had zero complaints & I 𝒟𝑜 recommend this book. Five ⭐️ all around. It‘s not all comedy either. It‘ll tug at your heart strings. There‘s a good balance of seriousness too.
Wow! This book was a great read/listen. I was unfamiliar with the case & completely sucked in by it. Diving in to this case with 0 knowledge this book told me everything I needed to know. It was interesting to learn how involved the reporter got in the case & how he‘s stayed in contact with Lauren‘s family. I finished the audiobook feeling frustrated & angry for her family. It‘s obvious people are hiding things. Stories keep changing.
Slow Dance is a slow burn romance between childhood friends who grew apart & reunite at a friend‘s wedding. Shiloh is a mess & Carey is too. It‘s not a glamorous take on relationships. It‘s more true to life though. People are messy & Rainbow is shining a light on it in a way most people wouldn‘t. I‘m so used to over the top grand gestures & larger than life plots. This feels like something that could really be happening somewhere in your town.
This book was so good. I was really curious to see how a happily ever after would be possible given the circumstances & I wasn‘t disappointed. There‘s tons of lovable, and some not so lovable, characters to get to know. It really tugs at your heartstrings near the end of the book & I was not expecting it at all.
Barbara O‘Neal is one of my fave authors. There‘s always many layers to her stories. The estrangement between Jewel & her father. The unconventional family between Jewel & Michael. The reunion with Jewel‘s family when she moves back home. All of the characters have rich backstories & she paints the pictures clearly it‘s like watching a movie. The recipes sprinkled throughout are an added bonus. It‘s a book filled with beauty, sorrow, joy, & loss.
Saffron is returning from a research trip & finds that her colleague, and former love interest, needs her help to prove his brother's innocence. After the death of a scientist sharing the same train car he's their only suspect. Once she starts to learn more about the scientist she uncovers more than she expected & the unexpected dangers that come with that knowledge. The book ends perfectly with the possibility for more.
Zelda Hawkins moves back to Manhattan to reopen her grandmother's sandwich shop, but gets pulled back into the world of vampires, witches, and fae. After agreeing to repair a magical mirror, Zelda is immediately forced to deal with danger from those who don't want it fixed. With some help from a few others including a mind-reading fire witch & Jester, a mini black poodle, Zelda sets out to make spells & sandwiches.
Cameron is starting over with her new state trooper boyfriend after the death of her serial killer husband. But when a murder happens that‘s eerily similar to her husband‘s style she begins to wonder if she‘s free of him after all or if she‘s fallen for the wrong man once again. I had fun with this one. It kept me guessing & there were even some surprises I wasn‘t expecting. Cameron is strong & fierce. She‘s not afraid to get her hands dirty.
Sharks are so beautiful & deeply misunderstood. The ocean is an incredible place & never ceases to amaze.
The perfect follow up to ‘Today Tonight Tomorrow‘
Rowan & Neil head off to college & begin their long distance romance. Both characters struggle with this new chapter in their lives & quickly realize that this may be harder than they thought. Full of ups and downs, new friends and old friends, Past Present Future shines a light on the growing pains of early adulthood & how to cope with leaving the comfort of home behind.
I love cozy mysteries & this series holds a place in my heart
I loved Finally Fitz! Her friendship with Levi was fun to explore & SO cute! Her sibling drama was very relatable being the youngest sibling myself. Fitz felt real. She has problems & feelings a lot of people struggle to understand & deal with in a healthy way. It's always a breath of fresh air when stories dive into the mess instead of dance around it to keep everything fluffy. There's plenty of comedy & happy carefree moments to enjoy as well.
As usual Emily Henry is the best. It truly is a funny story. It‘s a cute small town with lots of great characters. Plenty of messy situations to make the characters feel like real people & not like they‘ve stepped straight out of a hallmark movie, but also plenty of hallmark movie level beautiful romantic scenes.
I took off the dust jacket, but this beautiful book arrived earlier in the week from @simonandschuster! I listened to Today Tonight
Tomorrow to jog my memory since it's been a minute since I read it. I can't wait to dive back in to Rowan & Neil's relationship & see how they navigate the struggle of long distance relationships.
Release date: June 4th, 2024
One of my top 5 books of 2022. I loved it! There‘s heavy & sensitive topics, but so many twists & turns. I kept guessing the whole time & was pleasantly surprised that the ending wasn‘t predictable to me.
I feel guilty for not liking this book because I know so many people absolutely love it, but I just couldn‘t get into it.
This book hits so close to home. I listened to the audio while at work & ended up in tears because so much of how I am was explained to me through hearing Zach talk about himself. I realized things I had never noticed before & it‘s put a new perspective on my life especially now that I have a son to raise & don‘t want to project what I experienced as a child onto him. I want to do better & be better so he doesn‘t grow up in a broken home like me.
Major spoilers ahead!!
I really enjoyed this book up to the point where you find out the house is a physical being. I feel like the author had done a great job of creating a story that could have been real life, but once you get to that point, it adds an unrealistic element that you‘d find in a horror film. I still enjoyed the book, but I was disappointed with the direction it went.
“My gift has always been an ability to be happy. It sounds small until you live in the world for a while.”
The most beautiful cover 🧪🪦 and a very intriguing story as well.
I‘ll be honest I didn‘t like this book. To each their own, but I found it hard to find anything enjoyable about it. I thought the characters were just awful people. I realize everyone makes mistakes, hurt people at some point or another in their lives whether it be intentional or not, but goddamn these characters take the cake. I was happy the book was over simply so I could check it off my list not because it was actually good.
I found this book to be enjoyable, but slow moving at first. Once it picked up I was hooked & finished it in a single night. I loved it.
There‘s something about Barbara O‘Neal‘s writing that pulls me in every time. I shed a few tears & flew threw this book pretty fast compared to other books I‘ve read this year.
So much more twisted than The Hunger Games & I‘m only halfway done
If I could give this book all the stars I would. I love Hilarie Burton Morgan more than words can explain. She‘s so relatable, down to earth, honest, kind, & straightforward. This book is a very raw & open look into her life & the family she‘s created not only with her husband & kids, but with her community. You‘ll laugh, you‘ll cry, you‘ll get angry. This book doesn‘t disappoint.
I tried to finish reading this book, but the story just seemed to get so far fetched & progressively more twisted I gave up. It wasn‘t a compelling storyline & lost my attention halfway through.
Lazy Saturday read. Picked this up at Target today while getting groceries.
Nothing better than finding a beautiful cover hidden underneath the dust jacket.
“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.”
Diving into this while the pot pie is slow cooking.
“What did you do?”
What did I do? I murdered my ex-girlfriend Guinevere Beck...Before that, I strangled her friend Peach...less than 5 miles from here...also did away with a drug-addled jerk named Benji. Oh, also. The first girl I ever loved, Candace. I put her out to sea. Nobody knows I did any of these things so it‘s like that if-a-tree-falls-in-the-woods question.
“I have no idea,” I say.
Sometimes I can‘t help but feel that I really am a hobbit that would rather stay in her hobbit hole than go on any adventures.
“We are plain quiet folk and have no use for adventures. Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for dinner! I can‘t think what anybody sees in them.”
The list of books I‘ve read this year. 19 in 2019. (Vampire diaries is 4 books in 2) less than my goal, but hopefully I‘ll make my goal next year. I‘m slowly expanding my taste in genres/age groups & I really want to see more variety on my shelves from now on. Drop a book in the comments that you absolutely loved reading this year! Maybe I‘ll love it too.
This is the only book I‘ve ever chosen to put down & never pick up again. There have been books that I made myself finish even if they weren‘t the most interesting to me, but with this one I realized I had absolutely 0 desire completing it. Reading felt more like a chore. The storyline didn‘t hook me & I didn‘t love any of the characters. I was more annoyed by the characters at times. Some may love this book, but it‘s just not for me.
