so-soThis is a slow burn police procedural mystery. Set both in South Africa and France, it follows an elite South African Police force as they investigate a mysterious body thrown from a train death, and a mysterious assassin laying low in France. This did drag a bit for me as it is long at almost 400 pages. If you are a fan of this series, this should appeal to you. Otherwise this may be hard to get into at book 6.

Absolutely masterfully making use of more or less current South African politics (state capture, the Guptas), alternating settings, excellent pacing... There is a reason Deon Meyer is as successful and popular as he is. The English - The Last Hunt - is in local bookstores now and probably in ebook form. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Good morning from Windhoek! Slept badly and up early (because 3-year-old) but my Overdrive hold came in yesterday and I'm drinking coffee and reading, so how bad can it be?
Due to the exorbitant price, my sister and I gave up on buying this one and I was happy to find I could get it through Overdrive. Can whoever is reading it just hurry the hell up now! I've been waiting so long 😂
